A former teacher, civil servant and present-day holistic therapist, I have been painting since the early 1990s and exhibiting for several years. I am a member of NOVA (North Norfolk Organisation for Visual Artists) and The Norfolk and Norwich Art Circle and have had work selected for Norwich Castle Open Art Show.
My interest in art lies in picture-making. To this end, I consider good, strong composition to be crucial. Instinctively seeking out patterns and shapes in the landscape, the often heightened sense of colour in my work reflects an intuitive, emotional response. I am fascinated by, and passionate about, the impact and possibilities of shape and colour
I work from sketches and sometimes photographs for reference, but mostly, and best of all, enjoy working en plein air.
